July 20, 2016 Texas Rangers placed DH Prince Fielder on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to July 19, 2016. August 1, 2016 Texas Rangers transferred DH Prince Fielder from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. November 7, 2016 Texas Rangers activated DH Prince Fielder from the 60-day disabled list. February 14, 2017 Texas Rangers placed DH Prince Fielder on the 60-day disabled list.
On August 10, 2016, Fielder announced that he would be unable to continue his playing career after undergoing a second neck surgery in three years. He ended his career with 319 home runs, the same number as his father, Cecil Fielder. This game, though, resulted in ejections, Yankees’ manager Billy Martin being pelted with thrown objects, and a Cecil Cooper walk-off home run. Jackson popped up in the fourth inning and threw his bat at Brewers’ pitcher Mike Caldwell.
Prince Fielder Bio
Earlier, Hammel hit Braun and Greinke fired a pitch at Tulowitzki. Prior to his swing, Alfredo Amezaga, nicknamed “Amazing” by teammates, doubled and scored on Seth Smith’s triple before Street’s blown save. Amezaga was only in the game because the Rockies’ all-star shortstop was watching from the clubhouse, helpless to impact the outcome. A palpable tension developed, infecting players and umpires. MILWAUKEE — When Jason Hammel hit Ryan Braun in the arm with a pitch in the fifth inning, the whole mood of Friday’s game changed. November 3, 2014 Texas Rangers activated DH Prince Fielder from the 60-day disabled list.

Tied Billy Butler, Hunter Pence, and Joey Votto for the major league lead with 162 games…was one of 12 major leaguers with minimums of 25 homers and 100 RBI…ranked among the A.L. He hit .632 during the week (12-for-19) with 11 RBIs and 22 total bases. He finished the month of April with a .301 batting average, 7 home runs, and 27 RBIs.
Milwaukee Brewers (2005–
In 89 games of 2016, Fielder finished his injury-shortened season with a .212 batting average, 16 doubles, 8 home runs, and 44 RBIs. Fielder hit .279 during the 2013 regular season, and his 25 home runs was the lowest total in any of his eight full major league seasons until he hit only 23 in 2015. He did, however, drive in 106 runs, marking the sixth time he topped 100 in his career.

Ty Wigginton was in left field for only the fourth time this season. On July 9, 2012, Fielder became the 2012 Home Run Derby champion, hitting 12 home runs in the third and final round over José Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays. This is Fielder's second win in the derby, his first coming in 2009. Fielder became the first participant to win for both the National and American League, and joined Ken Griffey Jr. as the only two players to win multiple Derbies. Along with Fielder, Braun also hit 30 home runs on the season, marking the 4th time the duo each hit at least 30 home runs in a season.
#1- September 25, 2008: Ryan Braun vs. Pirates
Earlier in the season, Aguilar’s first home run of the year had been a walk-off home run against the Marlins. In that at-bat, he battled for eight minutes and 13 pitches before sending the Brewers home as winners. Even though he was the son of a major leaguer and had demonstrated prodigious power in his Florida high school, the seminal baseball text "Moneyball" had this uproarious nugget from that draft. Fielder spent most of that 2005 season in Class AAA and only finished with two homers all year at the big-league level. But on Aug. 31, his two-run homer into the second deck against Jose Mesa turned a 5-4 deficit into a 6-5 win against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Prince Fielder hits a pinch-hit two-run homer to win the game in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Aug. 31, 2005.
Hammel became the first Rockies’ pitcher since Jason Jennings in 2004 to hit a home run. He clubbed a Greinke fastball over the left-field fence, his first-ever homer after leading pitchers in batting practice for weeks. Tracy’s decisions had paid off, soothing the loss of Todd Helton and Carlos Gonzalez (he should be in the lineup tonight after pinch-hitting Friday).
The record-breaking RBI was a sacrifice fly, scoring Mike Cameron. He finished the season with 141 RBIs, which surpassed his father's career high of 133 in 1991. In 2011, Fielder batted .299, led the National League in intentional walks , was second in the league in home runs , and was third in slugging percentage (.566). On defense, he led the majors in errors committed by a first baseman and had the lowest fielding percentage of all first basemen (.990). Through 2011, he had the second-highest career slugging percentage (.540) and OPS (.929) of any player in Brewers history, behind Braun, and was second in career home runs to Robin Yount.
On Sept. 23, 2008, Fielder's blast gave him 100 RBI for the year, extended his hitting streak to 13 games and gave the Brewers a must-win over the Pirates in what would become a memorable three-game sweep near the end of the season. When you picture Prince, do you think of the "bowling ball" celebration? Take a look back at the highlights of Fielder's illustrious Brewers career. Milwaukee Brewers' Prince Fielder pulls out his shirt after hitting a walk-off home run to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-5 on Sept. 23, 2008.
He made the finals with 17 home runs after the first two rounds, eliminating local favorites Albert Pujols and Ryan Howard. He then beat former Brewers teammate Nelson Cruz with six homers in the final round. His 23 long balls tied for the sixth-most in the Derby's history. He also hit the longest home run of the Derby at 503 feet . Fielder ended the 2008 regular season with a .276 batting average, 34 home runs, 102 RBIs, 86 runs and 84 walks.

He’s certainly been carrying his weight this season in limited action. All the right- hander has done is pound the strike zone with sinkers, his quick pace improving the defense behind him. Opponents are hitting just .178 against Mortensen, who hasn’t allowed a home run to a right-hander in 43 at-bats. While Zack Greinke commanded the attention, Shaun Marcum (5-1, 2.54) has been the Brewers’ best offseason addition. Don’t be surprised if first baseman Jason Giambi gets a third consecutive start.
The 2008 Brewers celebrated victories by untucking their shirts at the end of the game, in solidarity with a daily tribute centerfielder Mike Cameron paid to his father. The Cardinals took a 5-2 lead in Game 1 of the 2011 NLCS on Oct. 9, 2011, before Fielder & Co. powered their way to a fifth-inning lead and a series-opening win. After Ryan Braun's two-run double made it a one-run game, Fielder connected against Cards left-hander Jaime Garcia for a two-run homer and a 6-5 advantage, and Miller Park went crazy. Fielder hit .316 in September 2008 with 21 RBIs, a bright spot for an offense mired in a funk so deep it cost Yost his job with 12 regular-season games to play. Fielder's biggest hit of the month was his line-drive walk-off shot on Sept. 23 against the Pirates for a win that kept pace with the Mets in a National League Wild Card chase that went all the way to the final day. The Brewers surrendered a Giants run in the first inning on Sept. 6, 2009, then kept San Francisco off the scoreboard the rest of the afternoon while turning a triple play along the way.

The acquisition of Fielder, who had only played first base in his career, required 2008–2011 first baseman Miguel Cabrera to move to third, which Cabrera was notably happy to do. Fielder was named the National League Player of the Week for the week of September 15–21 after he batted .462, with 27 total bases, six doubles, 11 RBIs, .533 on-base percentage, and a 1.038 slugging percentage. On August 4, Fielder and teammate Manny Parra got into a scuffle in the dugout during a game against the Cincinnati Reds in which Parra was the starting pitcher. They were having a brief conversation, which led to Parra throwing his jacket down and Fielder shoving him. Fielder had to be restrained by teammates Ray Durham, Dave Bush, J. J. Hardy, Ryan Braun, and pitching coach Mike Maddux. ESPN reported that night that the dispute was over Parra heading back to the clubhouse after being pulled from the game instead of staying in the dugout to watch the Brewers bat in the next inning.
On November 20, 2013, Fielder was traded to the Texas Rangers for second baseman Ian Kinsler and $30 million. In June 2014 Fielder underwent season ending neck surgery. At the time of his mid-season departure, he was batting .247 with 3 home runs and 16 RBI in 42 games. Fielder's then league-leading streak of 547 consecutive games started was ended. The 2012 World Series was Fielder's first career trip to the World Series.
Those who aren't Brewers fans might be stunned to learn he has two inside-the-park home runs on his résumé. As Fielder jumped onto home plate, his gathered teammates all fell backward like a bomb had exploded, leaving a triumphant Fielder standing in the midst of it all, holding his hands to the sky. The Rockies didn’t figure to need their fists to fight back with the victory clenched in their fingers after six innings.
